In a cross conference matchup that many people were highly interested in, Ottawa came out on top.
This one going in was interesting for multiple reasons... How would a Rangers team who is winless on the road come into the 67’s TD Place and answer to the call of the most potent team we saw in the OHL last season?
But foremost the main reason the East Ave Blue faithful were so drawn to this matchup is one of their beloved who left their own team gets his first chance to play against them. Yep, Joseph Garreffa, and boy oh boy did he make them pay.
He may have only gotten one apple in the game, but Rangers fans this one will be a tough pill to swallow. Joey G embodied what it was to be a Ranger.. hard work, dedication to his craft, and above all he bled the blue through and through.
But now, he bleeds the horizontal Red White and Black of this Nation’s capital... and helped his team rally the troops late in the 3rd period (scoring with under 50 seconds in the game remaining) to seal the deal. Noel Hoefenmayer snuck in to the Rangers zone and slipped it by Ingham late to once again seal the Rangers losing ways on the road.
The final score from TD Place OTT 4 - KIT 3.
